who knew that joyce leslie was still around? i passed one today out in queens. (unlike brooklyn, i don't tend to get lost in queens. but i did seem to encounter a crackpipe, but that's a story for another time.)
joyce takes me back to 8th grade, around 14 years old, rocking the synthetic fabrics big time. ah, joyce. the H&M of its day - total chaos once you entered the store and so much merchandise you couldn't find a damn thing in the place.
joyce was right up there with deb - remember that one? deb was homecoming/prom dress central all the year round. for whatever your formal needs, deb was right there for you.

Ha, I think we got some of our "going out" shirts at Deb in college - for like $5 each.
totes.
welcome to the commenting fold, JS!
I DID buy a prom dress at Deb, but was then too ashamed to wear it. Imagine a one shouldered, ruched, black and white "satin" prom dress with a black sequin trim and a large artifical flower at the waist. Ouch.
