fun fortune

i'm a big fan of my horoscope. and fortune cookies. normally, they are fairly standard. but, i quite liked the one i got tonight, replicated above - very intriguing, no? i'll keep my eye out and hopefully make the right choice.

what would betty do?

so tomorrow at work we are having a team bake-off. well, not exactly team as this was billed as 'girls only'. 

my first thought was that this was incredibly sexist. topped off with the secret (and nearly) 'boys only' fantasy baseball league, i was not sure about where these gender roles were heading. 

but then i thought, get over yourself. channel your inner betty crocker and get baking. i am up for a good challenge. and with nana's infamous recipe for ginger cookies i think i'm a serious contender.

food, glorious food

now that i am back in the States i've found that i am eating way too much of certain foods that i couldn't get in the UK. or, that i couldn't get well enough in the UK. the most dangerous being soft, huge chocolate chip cookies. i cannot get enough. shortbread and digestive biscuits got nothin' on them. in fact, just go ahead and call me the cookie monster.
