i was an unabashed fan of the hair bands back in the day.

dug this out of my box of concert memorabilia - a signed "cherry pie" poster from late 1990. (or, as i specifically catalogued, 11/18/90). i believed they opened for poison at the nassau coliseum.

i have no recollection of actually asking them for nor seeing them autograph, so i'm guess maybe my father did on my behalf? (thanks, dad.)

they're baaack

the body shop is re-introducing some of it's original products from the 80s. for some reason, i thought that it'd be a good idea to pair the ice blue mint shampoo with the banana conditioner. nevertheless, can't wait to pick up some old faves.

i'll admit that the crystal meth was a bit of a shock. but, is anyone surprised that this was a wig? anyone? (i'm glad i get to use our 'fun with hair tag' for this post.)

i stayed with family over the weekend and my pre-teen cousin has this posted in her bathroom - hairstyles of the week - which made me smile. they include:

mon = pony in the back

tues = 2 ponies in front (hannah [montana] hair) -

wed = bun in back

thurs = headband

fri = freestyle

i have to say, i'm really looking forward to friday.

my little pony apparently has a soft spot for hollywood (and johnny depp to boot). here s/he is as edward scissorhands and captain jack sparrow. they are the creation of artist Mari Kasurinen.

remember when barbie was hanging out in malibu with skipper in her dream house? today she's has fierce blunt bangs, is hanging out on facebook and looking to be my BFF. sigh.
