I go and almost order a Starbucks Venti on THREE separate occasions last week. I was seriously rationalising each time why the Venti was a good idea. WTF? Everyone knows how I feel about the Venti. Total coco loco. Clearly, I have lost all sense of reality. I must be allergic to work.

i think you are being swayed by a little vfm - value for money - in this economic downturn. for only a few cents/pence more you are lured to the thought of more bang for your buck/pound.
